On November 8th my hand painted guitar will be for sale to help raise money for the Bahama village music program.

when I received my guitar to paint the first thing I thought of was woody Guthrie and his guitar which had

THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS

Written on it it…it made me think of how powerful Woody’s songs are and how deeply his message still resonates.
So I painted

THE POWER IS IN YOUR HANDS

On my guitar. I think often times the individual can feel small and insignificant in society when facing monsters like inequality, corporate power , fascism , authoritarianism, greed , hate , hunger deception ect…

However when we recognize that we have the ability to amplify our voice when we work with others for the greater good of all … then the individual is truly given power

Music has the ability to allow one to see another’s pain and struggle as well as joy and celebration and see and feel it as one’s own pain or joy

Music makes us feel part of something bigger than ourselves, it has the ability to connect us and that ultimately empowers us !
